Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a tech or high-growth company.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS systems (e.g., BambooHR).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Google platform.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CPHR designation or working toward certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, rollout, and administration of HR policies, programs, and practices aligned to a fast-scaling tech environment.
  • Provide coaching to employees and managers on HR policies, employee engagement, and performance challenges.
  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR questions and support needs.
  • Foster a transparent, inclusive, and feedback-driven workplace culture.
  • Contribute to employee engagement efforts, recognition programs, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Serve as a backup to the Talent Acquisition Specialist by assisting with end-to-end recruitment efforts, including job postings, screenings, and interviews in collaboration with hiring managers.
  • Support the delivery of an exceptional onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring early engagement and clarity on role expectations.
  • Oversee the off-boarding process, from conducting exit interviews to facilitating a smooth departure for employees.
  • Assist with the administration of performance reviews, goal setting, and feedback cycles.
  • Track employee development plans and support learning opportunities and training logistics.
  • Drafting and sharing of company-wide communications via Slack & email.
  • Maintain HR records and ensure data accuracy in HRIS.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal procedures, and industry standards.
  • Generate HR reports and metrics.
  • Identify and share insights to inform decisions on workforce planning, retention, and employee satisfaction.
  • Assisting with special projects for continuous improvement to our employee experience and HR service.
