About The Position

Red Sun Farms is seeking candidates for the position of Human Resources Generalist in our Kingsville Corporate Office. The Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, will be responsible for a range of duties supporting the HR department, management and employees of Red Sun Farms in both Canada and the United States. This role will support and promote a corporate culture that aligns with and embodies the values of the company throughout all aspects of the HR function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in human resources management, business administration, or a related field required
  • Minimum three years of work experience in Human Resources required
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP designation considered an asset
  • Work experience in recruitment preferred
  • Knowledge of US labour law, best practices, and benefits considered an asset
  • Experience with HRIS/HCM software (UKG Pro and WFM) an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates implementation of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and applicable legislations and regulations
  • Supports the execution of the performance management program, assisting HR in ensuring effective implementation and providing guidance to employees and managers
  • Maintain and update employee records and personnel profiles within UKG to ensure accurate and current employee information
  • Assist with benefit and pension enrollment processes, including employee follow-up and documentation
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to coordinate staffing requirements in collaboration with local employment agencies
  • Provide day-to-day HR support, including employee relations, manager support, and general administrative duties
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and company events throughout the year
  • Monitor compliance requirements, including work permits, legislative updates, and related documentation
  • Assist Payroll & Benefits with compliance reporting and other related administrative processes
  • Coordinates the hiring and recruitment process, including interview scheduling and participating in interviews, conducting reference checks
  • Facilitates onboarding and offboarding paperwork processing
  • Manages the review and updating of employee job descriptions
  • Provide administrative support to Health & Safety and Payroll teams as needed
  • Assists managers and supervisors in dealing with employee issues and providing advice in managing the progressive disciplinary procedures
  • Manage the timely and accurate processing of employee changes including new hires, job changes, terminations, compensation changes and status changes within our HRIS and personnel files
  • Understands and complies with all Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety and Operations policy and procedures
  • Completes other duties and projects as assigned
