About The Position

The Human Resource Generalist will assist in supporting daily human resources operations and ensuring a positive teammate experience. This role handles a broad range of HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, maintaining electronic records, employee relations and performance management.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in a HR role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment/atmosphere.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for handling sensitive matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage a broad range of tasks and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and ATS systems.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Managing job postings, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, and facilitating the onboarding process.
  • Assisting with benefits administration & enrollment.
  • Maintaining accurate digital and physical personnel files.
  • Utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to manage employee data.
  • Assist with scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of the department.
  • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with the Short Service Teammate program, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires pre-employment checks and teammate eligibility verifications.
  • Coordinates new hire orientation, onboarding and teammate recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, morale and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, teammates, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in teammate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Attends career fairs, job expos, community employment events, and campus recruiting activities to promote the organization and build candidate pipelines.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
