Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations while contributing to a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This role requires the ability to apply business knowledge and HR best practices while supporting both employees and management. This position offers broad exposure across the HR function, with a strong focus on onboarding. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive communicator with a passion for delivering a high-quality employee experience. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of business operations and HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability and ability to manage multiple changing priorities
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service
  • Uphold high level of integrity and professionalism to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry preferred
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee onboarding activities and ensure timely, consistent execution
  • Coordinate pre-onboarding activities, including job postings, offer letters, background checks, new hire paperwork, system setup, and logistics
  • Communicate onboarding details and expectations to new hires
  • Coordinate orientations and support new employees during their transition
  • Ensure new hires are effectively integrated into their roles and company culture
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding process
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects and departmental initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Support recruiting, performance management, benefits administration, and training initiatives
  • Facilitate initiatives that promote employee engagement and retention
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and policy updates as needed
  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers
  • Contribute to an efficient, compliant, and employee-focused HR function
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely support
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including data entry, filing, invoicing, and reporting
  • Manage and audit employee data within the HRIS (e.g., BambooHR)
  • Ensure proper document management and recordkeeping compliance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with opportunities for increased responsibility as the role evolves
