About The Position

The HR Generalist will support the development and execution of initiatives that foster an engaged and high-performing workplace. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role is instrumental in enhancing employee engagement and culture-building programs. This role requires a versatile professional who is also capable of supporting various aspects of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration and processes improvement, while ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, communications, organizational change, or related discipline.
  • 1-3+ years of HR experience managing unemployment claims, Workers Compensation claims, Benefits, and leave administration and engagement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong written & visual storytelling skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact in a positive manner with internal and external personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking skills.
  • Experience in a large or matrixed organization.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Canvas, and/or other similar programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of employee engagement, wellness, and recognition initiatives that reflect company values and culture.
  • Craft internal communication campaigns to build awareness, understanding, and alignment around key organizational priorities.
  • Write and design compelling communications that support transparency, reinforce culture, and foster employee trust.
  • Assist with day-to-day HR key benefits processes including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations.
  • Provide timely, accurate support to employees regarding their benefit options, eligibility, and troubleshooting needs.
  • Documents, prepares correspondence, and tracks all FMLA & ADA requests and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
  • Support for the full cycle hiring efforts, including recruiting strategy, screening resumes, scheduling candidates, interviewing, and extending offers.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and team member eligibility verifications.
  • Process I9s through E-verify and ensure compliance, monitoring and updating I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documentation as needed.
  • Facilitates the new hire orientation process, including benefits enrollment, new hire announcement, data base update, and create employee's personnel file.
  • Conducts the offboarding process that includes performing exit interviews and monitors/assists the completion of associated tasks and checklists.
  • Logs data and maintains complete an accurate HR Files for all employees, including all documents related to employer policies, payroll information and medical & benefit information, in accordance with HR laws and best practices to ensure the company's protection from any undue risk.
  • Maintain the organization chart up to date with all organizational changes on a monthly basis.
  • Respond to verification of employment requests as needed.
  • Performs monthly reconciliation of premium billing and/or accounting team to ensure proper invoicing from health care companies as well as proper deductions from employees each pay period.
  • Performs other duties as required to ensure HR & Communications functions are completed in an appropriate and timely manner.
