About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting core HR operations across the employee lifecycle and is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations. This position ensures compliance with company policies, employment laws and legislation, drives efficient HR processes and contributes to a positive and engaged workplace culture. This role requires a highly organized, resourceful problem-solver with a strong judgment, attention to detail, proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with a passion for people.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Post secondary education in Human Resources, or related field
  • Advance Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving capacity and excellent judgement
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Adaptability and ability to communicate effectively with other employees and external service representatives (verbal and written)
  • Flexible, adaptable and responsive to change with strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented environment with cross-functional exposure

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with BambooHR (or another HRIS) would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing and interview coordination and agency liaison
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience
  • Coordinate and support new hire onboarding agenda and training schedules and orientation programs
  • Ensure all employee documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries (benefits, policies, time off, etc.)
  • Maintain, update and manage the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Support employee relations matters, including documentation and issue resolution
  • Assist in the Performance Management Process, ensuring completion by all employees and managers
  • Partner closely with Payroll & Finance team to ensure accurate employee data, reporting and payroll processing
  • Manage employee anniversary recognitions
  • Maintain and update the Employee Handbook and HR Policies
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and events
  • Actively participant in the JHSC (First Aid training provided – if not already certified)
  • Ensure completion and tracking of mandatory Health and Safety training
  • Maintain all pertinent information from Employee Accident/Incident and Investigations
  • Support and manage AODA compliance initiatives and action planning Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits and RRSP programs, including enrollments and updates
  • Manage benefits portal and liaise with providers, and benefits broker
  • Process monthly reconciliations, benefits updates and support annual reporting requirements
  • Supports day-to-day HR operations and administrative activities
  • Coordinate internal events, such as training sessions, seminars, team initiatives and lunch & learns
  • Prepare and draft employee communications, correspondence, letters and documentation
  • Maintain organized and compliant employee records, as well as general administrative duties including filing reporting
