About The Position

The HR Generalist plays a key role in delivering HR services across the full employee lifecycle at Caliente. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position partners with leaders and employees to drive excellence in talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. The HR Generalist is responsible for maintaining consistent, scalable HR practices while supporting initiatives that build employee capability, advance leadership development, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including exposure to talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple HR functions simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA, and related regulations
  • Proven ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels, handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and HR technology; experience with ATS, LMS, and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, support workforce planning, and inform leadership decision-making
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present HR information clearly to diverse audiences
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, empathy, and conflict resolution skills to navigate sensitive employee situations effectively
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities with efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborative team member with a strong awareness of how HR decisions and actions impact the broader organization
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment; able to pivot priorities and maintain composure under pressure
  • Demonstrates professional integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to HR challenges
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week or more, as required to meet project schedule
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. without assistance

  • Valid driver license and proof of insurability required when job duties require use of motor vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Drives the full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, screening, interviewing coordination, and planning for onboarding
  • Leads the HR onboarding and orientation process, coordinating new hire training, system access, and first-week experiences to ensure a smooth and engaging transition
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to develop and maintain accurate, compelling job descriptions, define ideal candidate profiles, and provide timely feedback throughout the selection process
  • Acts as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, and HR programs, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Advises managers on employee relations matters and performance management, applying sound judgment and escalating complex issues to the HR Manager appropriately
  • Maintains and updates the HRIS, employee records, and other documentation in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Administers Caliente’s benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and ancillary offerings and serves as a primary employee contact to ensure timely, accurate enrollment and updates
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA, etc.)
  • Identifies learning needs through manager and employee feedback, surveys, and performance data
  • Supports career development initiatives such as mentorship programs and development plans
  • Assists with designing, coordinating, and facilitating training programs across the organization; champions course delivery and tracking through Caliente’s LMS to ensure participation and compliance
  • Contributes to the development, communication, and consistent enforcement of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company values and legal requirements
  • Conducts annual motor vehicle reporting and regularly maintains and updates internal databases
  • Champions company culture by planning and executing employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and internal events that foster connection and inclusivity
  • Ensures all required labor law postings are current, compliant, and properly displayed at all project sites and office locations
  • Compiles and analyzes HR reports and workforce metrics to support data-driven decision making by leadership
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, consistent with the seniority and leadership expectations of the role
