About The Position

Momentum Behavior Services is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining HR files, managing compliance training, administering employee leave programs, and providing guidance on benefits and accommodations. The Generalist will also handle workers' compensation claims, advise managers on employee relations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. As the primary HR contact for assigned clinics in Minnesota, this position will serve as a resource for employees on various HR-related matters. The role also involves conducting employee onboarding/offboarding and orientation programs, and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • 5 years HR generalist experience
  • Experience with Minnesota employment law required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Interpersonal skills- including the ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet short deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve
  • Knowledge of federal/state labor law (Minnesota)
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management as according to HIPAA

Nice To Haves

  • HR experience in healthcare highly preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus
  • Preferred awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation in the Rippling system or Google Files.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records in Rippling to ensure that all required documents are collected and stored appropriately.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Conducts new hire orientation in coordination with clinic Practice Managers.
  • Administers employee leave programs including state and federal leaves (e.g., MN PFML, FMLA where applicable), STD, and company leave policies.
  • Coordinates leave of absence processes including employee communication, documentation collection, and return to work planning.
  • Provides guidance to employees on benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and eligibility requirements.
  • Manages the interactive process for employee accommodation requests in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including documentation review, accommodation determinations, and communication with employees and leadership.
  • Coordinates workers compensation claims, including injury reporting, documentation, and communication with insurance carriers and employees.
  • Advises managers on employee relations matters including attendance, performance, conduct, and policy interpretation.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Serves as the primary contact for HR in assigned clinics in Minnesota, acting as a resource for employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the VP of Human Resources.
  • Conducts employee onboarding/offboarding, and orientation and programs.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
