About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join our team in Tillsonburg, ON. Reporting to the National Human Resource and Safety Manager, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist collaborates with the local leadership team and assigned regional leaders, providing guidance to foster a positive work environment and support employee and labour relations. Responsibilities include full cycle recruitment, performance management and ensuring compliance with Company policies and philosophy. The HR Generalist plays a key role in enhancing the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, certificate) in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of human resource generalist experience; preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources best practices and regulatory requirements (federal and provincial).
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Databases and Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects/competing deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately incorporate changes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labour law, employment standards, human rights and collective agreement administration.
  • Above average communication, interpersonal, conflict/challenge resolution/negotiation.
  • Ability to initiate, develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships throughout all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ADP is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment according to business needs and business cycle (i.e., creating talent attraction and sourcing strategy, advertising for career openings, sourcing and screening candidates, conducting interviews, providing realistic job and company previews, conducting reference checks).
  • Effectively communicates with all employees regarding inquiries and concerns.
  • Coordinates the orientation program for new employees.
  • Coaching managers and supervisors in the effective communication and delivery of team member performance management.
  • Participate in the completion of employee performance evaluation (probationary and annual).
  • Assist with coordination and implementation of internal and external training programs.
  • Maintaining and updating employee information housed in the HRIS and in paper-based employee files.
  • Assist in collective bargaining, as well as the interpretation and application of collective agreements.
  • Participate and assist in the grievance committee, as well as the management of grievances.
