About The Position

Winpak Lane Inc. is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join their team in Rialto, California. The primary focus of this role is to facilitate the delivery of "An Exceptional OneWinpak experience – Helping our people succeed professionally and personally." Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), the HR Generalist will collaborate closely with the Human Resources team (Centers of Expertise and HRBPs) and client groups to drive and support critical HR processes. These processes include performance management, compensation, workforce planning, employee and labor relations, and talent acquisition. The HR Generalist will support leaders in managing their teams through all stages of the employee life cycle by effectively interpreting and applying HR processes and policies. Additionally, the HR Generalist will support the implementation and improvement of OneWinpak HR principles and policies in collaboration with Centers of Expertise. Through effective guidance and collaboration with the HRBP, the HR Generalist will ensure that HR strategies are seamlessly integrated into operations to advance the company’s goals and strengthen engagement.

Requirements

  • Related University degree or College Diploma
  • Three (3) years of related experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative, trust-based relationships
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Be flexible to support internal clients on all shifts or weekends when required
  • Ability to plan and execute HR projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – ability to facilitate group training and discussions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using an HCM is an asset
  • Experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Works with the HRBP to guide managers and employees through the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, talent reviews and development planning, ensuring process timelines are consistent.
  • Advises Managers and Supervisors regarding employee performance issues, ensuring employees have every reasonable opportunity to succeed.
  • Partners with the HRBP to facilitate all aspects of the annual compensation process, delivering performance-informed merit increases within budget and on-time.
  • Facilitates sessions that develop people leaders’ understanding and application of compensation principles, processes, and their application.
  • Supports awareness of and participation in wellness and benefits programs to enhance employee well-being and engagement.
  • Facilitates leaves of absence, case management, and the return-to-work process, ensuring employees are set up for success and their wellness and safety are assured.
  • Facilitates the disability case management process, ensuring employees are enabled to return to work as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Provides support and guidance to employees and managers regarding disability accommodations and return-to-work programs.
  • Provides direction to HR Coordinators regarding all aspects of leave and claim process administration.
  • Delivers the onboarding process, ensuring new employees receive an exceptional experience and are set up for success in their new roles.
  • Supports the continuous improvement of the onboarding experience to enhance new employee engagement and retention.
  • Supporting the HRBPs and managers, addresses employee concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participates in investigations of harassment or employee misconduct, ensuring timely resolution, complete documentation, and substantiated findings and recommendations.
  • Helps ensure recommendations are implemented.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution and supports an engaging work environment that positions people for professional and personal success.
  • Supports L&D CoE with recommending training and development interventions that enable performance.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate HR records and generates reports as required.
  • Stays current on and ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Monitors updates to employment legislation and proactively recommends policy changes as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with wage and hour laws, FMLA, EEO, OSHA, ADA, ACA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Partners with leadership to mitigate risk and ensure consistent policy enforcement.
  • Participates on OneWinpak projects and initiatives.
  • Promotes teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and company.
  • Advises employees and people leaders on HR-related policies, procedures, and benefits.
