About The Position

The Brewer Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function in a manufacturing environment. This role will assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, training, performance management, and HR recordkeeping. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted resource for teammates and leaders while helping maintain a positive, safe, and compliant workplace. This role will support HR functions at three entities: Acuity Foam in Waukesha (1-2 days/week onsite), Komponents in Oconomowoc (1-2 days/week onsite), and Brewer in Menomonee Falls (1 day/week or as needed onsite). This role will be the primary HR contact and support for the Acuity and Komponents locations.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of human resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Experience using HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, applicant tracking, or related business systems.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to build trust with teammates at all levels of the organization, including production employees, supervisors, managers, and executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Must not be a family member or personal friend of any current or future teammates of any of the three entities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • HR certification a plus.
  • Experience with Rippling HRIS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer letters, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee documentation to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, HRIS data, attendance records, and other required documentation.
  • Assist teammates and leaders with questions related to company policies, procedures, benefits, attendance, payroll, and workplace expectations.
  • Support employee relations by helping address concerns, documenting conversations, assisting with investigations, and promoting fair and consistent practices.
  • Partner with leaders to support coaching, corrective action, performance management, and employee development conversations.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, employee education, qualifying life event changes, and communication with benefit providers.
  • Manage payroll processing for three entities on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Help coordinate training programs and safety initiatives.
  • Plan and promote engagement events, activities, and meetings, including two large events annually – Summer Picnic and Holiday Party.
  • Assist with compliance requirements related to employment laws, workplace postings, I-9 documentation, leave administration, OSHA-related recordkeeping support, and company policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to strengthen HR processes, communication, teammate experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
