About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the administration, processing, and data integrity of core Human Resources functions within a remote mining operation. The role provides operational support through accurate employee lifecycle processing, HR systems management, reporting, onboarding/offboarding administration, and compliance documentation. The HR Generalist acts as the primary owner of HR transactional processes and employee records, ensuring consistency, accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance across all HR administrative activities.

Requirements

  • University degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or related field
  • 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role
  • Knowledge of employment legislation
  • Basic understanding of safety requirements for mining environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize tasks

Responsibilities

  • Process all employee lifecycle transactions, including hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, leaves, and terminations
  • Prepare employment documentation, letters, and HR forms
  • Maintain accurate and secure employee personnel files and electronic records in HR databases and other reporting systems
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of HRIS and employee data systems, maintaining consistency across payroll, benefits, and HR platforms
  • Perform routine audits and reconciliation of HR records, reports, and tracking systems for mandatory compliance activities
  • Validate payroll-related HR inputs and employee status changes
  • Support benefits enrollment, changes, and administration coordination; liaise with payroll and benefits providers to resolve discrepancies
  • Generate regular workforce reports on headcount, turnover, absenteeism, vacancy tracking, and workforce demographics
  • Support compliance reporting, internal audits, and regulatory reporting by preparing required files and documentation
  • Ensure HR documentation complies with company standards and legislative requirements, including document retention and records management practices
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information
  • Assist employees with basic questions and administrative support related to benefit plans and HR policies
  • Support organizing employee engagement events or activities
  • Handle filing, scanning, and other clerical duties as required
  • Maintain strong health, safety, and environmental awareness and adhere strictly to the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental standards
