About The Position

The Human Resources & Finance Associate supports the day-to-day administrative functions specific to the Human Resources and Finance departments. This role involves assisting Finance with accounts payable and deposits, and supporting Human Resources with record-keeping, benefit administration, and payroll. The position requires accurate and timely processing of information and data entry. The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger-relief network that brings together community resources to share tens of millions of pounds of food with neighbors each year. Our highly collaborative team believes that empowerment, education and partnerships are key to getting food into the hands of those who need it most. With the help of 145 partner agencies, more than 185 school partners and thousands of volunteers, our day-to-day efforts help feed nearly 100,000 neighbors each month across our 32-county area. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, human resources certificate or equivalent experience
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to complete financial calculations and reports with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Ability to relate effectively with other staff, volunteers, neighbors, The Food Bank partners and the general public
  • Proven excellence in organizational and planning skills, problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Be sensitive to the needs of neighbors with a commitment to fighting hunger
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Obtain financial information for government contracts and private grants
  • Manage special projects
  • Process deposits and accounts payable
  • Backup for benefit invoice reconciliation
  • Assist in benefit enrollment and administration
  • Backup for payroll administration

  • Assist in employee handbook understanding/guidance
  • HRIS Administration
  • Learning Management System Administration
  • Serve as a member of the Employee Council
  • Assist in verifying I-9 documentation and maintaining documentation
  • Assist with maintaining driver files
  • Work with Volunteer Database
  • Front Desk & Reception Coverage
  • Answer a multi-line phone
  • Direct callers to resources
  • Perform general clerical duties, including but not limited to filing, photocopying, scanning and mailing
  • Maintain and update human resource documents and forms
  • Accurately record journal entries
  • Daily deposits reconciliation
  • Maintain confidentiality
