About The Position

Oregon Veterans Home – Lebanon (OVHL) is seeking a Human Resources Director to support and lead a dedicated team serving those who have served our country. In this role, you’ll make a direct impact on employee experience, compliance, and organizational culture in a unionized healthcare setting. This role is a key member of the leadership team, overseeing HR compliance, employee relations, labor relations, benefits administration, and leave management in a unionized healthcare setting. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of HR management or HR leadership experience
  • Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred
  • Experience working in a union environment / labor relations
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, OFLA, Workers’ Compensation, EEOC, and BOLI
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems; Dayforce experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of Human Resources, including employee relations, compliance, and HR operations
  • Manage leave programs, including FMLA, OFLA, and Workers’ Compensation
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (EEOC, ADA, BOLI, Oregon labor regulations)
  • Partner with leadership on performance management, employee engagement, and retention strategies
  • Support labor relations, including union collaboration and contract interpretation
  • Oversee benefits administration (medical, dental, vision, retirement plans)
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure confidentiality and regulatory compliance
