About The Position

The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization’s human resource function. The primary goal is to ensure that the organization attracts, retains, and develops a highly qualified and diverse workforce that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values, and to manage all aspects of the employee life cycle. The HR Director will work closely with senior management and other department heads to develop and implement HR policies and practices that support the organization's strategic objectives. The Human Resources Director plays a critical role in creating a positive work environment, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring the organization's success. The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, strong HR knowledge and experience, and a deep commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
  • Requires ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires knowledge of federal and state employment law and regulations.
  • Requires the ability to travel, both locally by car and nationally by air, as needed to attend meetings, trainings, conferences and events.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • SPHR/SCP or PHR/CP certification preferred.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Prior experience working within a human services children and families service industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and oversees all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations/performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, leaves of absences, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with employees, management, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • Maintains job descriptions, employee handbooks, and other HR-related documentation.
  • Maintains HR performance data/indicators, produce reports, and uses data/information to inform efforts and strategies.
  • Monitors employee satisfaction and retention through data analysis, surveys and focus groups and make recommendations on future strategies.
  • Implements efforts to hire a diverse workforce and to ensure inclusivity of employees from a wide variety of backgrounds in all aspects of organizational life.
  • Monitors and oversees the employee discipline process to ensure practices are consistent with internal policy/procedures and abides by applicable employment law and regulations; intervenes directly in cases involving suspension and termination and assists in employee coaching and counseling sessions.
  • Escalates matters prior to termination, and collaborates on any employee terminations.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversees management of the unemployment compensation process, including completion of all required forms, filing of appeals as necessary, and representing Pressley Ridge at hearings.
  • Oversees required documentation, record keeping and personnel files.
  • Supervises staff and directly supervises personnel actions including action plans, hiring, terminations, recruitment, vacation and sick day requests.
  • Ensures that program staffing is qualified.
