About The Position

As part of the Department of Corporate Services, the City of Humboldt is currently seeking to fill one (1) Temporary, Full-Time Human Resources Coordinator position. This position is expected to last for a period of approximately 12 months. Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Services, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the control and administration of the City's Payroll system as well as the Human Resource policies, processes, and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in Payroll Administration, Business or Human Resources is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant HR Administrative experience (i.e. screening resumes, processing payroll, reviewing new hire documents, training, coordinating interviews), an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, experience with GP Diamond is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll and all related functions (source deductions, ROE’s and T4’s) for City Employees (Union & Out-of-Scope), Council and Fire Department.
  • Administer the employee benefit plan, pension plan and other employment-related benefits and pay obligations.
  • Provide recruiting support, new hire packages and employee orientation.
  • Assist management with progressive discipline including writing discipline letters, performing investigations, and attending meetings.
  • Organize, track, and maintain HR records and reports.
