About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and tech-curious HR Associate to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of payroll, freelance operations, and internal systems, owning and leading our freelance program end-to-end while supporting the day-to-day accuracy of our workforce processes and partnering with Technology and IT to help improve how our tools and data work together. This is a great fit for someone who is equal parts process-minded and analytically curious, and who wants to grow into a more systems-savvy operator over time.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in operations, HR, finance, or a related administrative role
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable working with systems, spreadsheets, and data tracking
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to assess requests and problems holistically - understanding how people, systems, and processes connect and impact one another and provide thoughtful, solutions-oriented guidance as a result
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous or evolving environments and able to bring structure to undefined problems

Responsibilities

  • Process employee payroll on a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly) with a high degree of accuracy
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
  • Review timesheets for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information
  • Identify and escalate payroll issues or discrepancies for resolution
