About The Position

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department within our senior living community. This position plays a key role in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, recordkeeping, and administrative support while helping foster a positive and professional workplace culture dedicated to exceptional resident care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1+ years of Human Resources experience preferred, preferably in a senior living or healthcare environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adept at problem-solving
  • Knowledge of basic HR practices and employment laws preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding coordination.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork and maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Track and maintain employee licenses, certifications, training records, and background checks.
  • Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping corrections, and benefits administration.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, resident, and organizational information at all times.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and staff events.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims, incident reporting, and leave tracking.
  • Support investigations into workplace issues including but not limited to employee relation issues, ethical violations, and other HR-related concerns.
  • Ensure HR files and documentation remain compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Help coordinate mandatory trainings and compliance requirements for healthcare staff.
  • Assist with processing HR department invoices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
