About The Position

RJ Young is seeking an organized and creative individual to join their Human Resources team as an HR Assistant. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, including recruitment support, employee relations, record maintenance, benefits administration, and event coordination. The position is ideal for recent graduates, former teachers, or individuals looking to transition into the HR field. This is a full-time, in-office position based at the corporate headquarters in Nashville, TN.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, clerical support, education, or similar role
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working with people
  • Professional and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Creative and enjoys writing, designing presentations, or creating engaging communications
  • Comfortable learning new software and technology
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Previous HR experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting efforts by assisting with job postings, candidate screenings, and onboarding new employees.
  • Answer employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and HR processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HR systems.
  • Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and other personnel updates.
  • Assist with benefits administration and company-wide employee programs.
  • Help coordinate orientation, training sessions, employee recognition events, retirement celebrations, holiday parties, and other company events.
  • Create internal newsletters, employee communications, presentations, slideshows, birthday and anniversary cards, and other materials that enhance the employee experience.
  • Prepare reports, complete HR audits, and support the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
  • Collaborate closely with experienced HR professionals while learning how every area of Human Resources works together.
