About The Position

The Human Resources Assistant Manager supports the Human Resources Manager with the day-to-day administration of Human Resources functions and programs, including recruitment and onboarding, Team Member relations, benefits administration, training and development, performance management, compensation, leave administration, Workers’ Compensation, compliance, HR reporting, and the maintenance and administration of Team Member information through ADP/HRIS systems. The position serves as a resource to Team Members and managers, helps ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures, maintains confidentiality, and supports compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive Team Member information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Human Resources team.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Previous supervisory or HR leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with ADP or another Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including employee data management, reporting, onboarding, and HR workflows.
  • Knowledge of employment practices and applicable federal, state, and local labor laws preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Human Resources Manager in administering and implementing Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, selection, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.
  • Support recruiting efforts through online job postings, recruiting platforms, employee referrals, community partnerships, schools, colleges, professional organizations, job fairs, and other appropriate recruitment sources to attract qualified candidates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, workforce programs, and other recruiting partners to support ongoing staffing needs.
  • Ensure recruitment and selection practices are conducted consistently and in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity requirements and company policies.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation and ensure required employment documentation and training are completed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential Team Member information in ADP/HRIS, including new hires, job changes, transfers, promotions, terminations, compensation changes, and other employee data.
  • Review ADP/HRIS records for accuracy and follow up on missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information.
  • Assist with onboarding tasks in ADP, including new-hire documentation, required forms, acknowledgments, and assigned training.
  • Maintain and upload Team Member documents to the appropriate ADP profile, including counseling notices, performance documentation, certifications, and other HR records.
  • Assist managers and Team Members with ADP-related questions and basic system navigation.
  • Support HR workflows in ADP, including requisitions, job changes, approvals, performance reviews, and other HR processes as assigned.
  • Monitor Team Member status, position information, reporting relationships, pay class, and other HRIS data to help ensure records remain current and accurate.
  • Generate and review ADP/HRIS reports related to headcount, turnover, compensation, benefits, training, employment status, and other HR metrics.
  • Assist with periodic HRIS audits to verify Team Member records, documentation, position assignments, and required compliance information.
  • Assist with and coordinate promotions, transfers, job changes, and separations in accordance with the established management and HR approval process.
  • Support Team Member relations matters, including counseling, performance concerns, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, in coordination with HR leadership.
  • Assist managers with coaching, counseling, performance management, performance evaluations, and Team Member development.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, eligibility changes, Team Member questions, and coordination with benefit providers.
  • Support administration and tracking of leaves of absence, including FMLA and other applicable company or legally protected leaves.
  • Monitor Workers’ Compensation cases and ensure incidents, claims, and required documentation are reported and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist with wage and salary reviews and compensation analysis to help maintain internal consistency and market competitiveness.
  • Monitor HR documentation and reporting requirements and assist with compliance related to EEOC, Department of Labor, OSHA, and other applicable agencies.
  • Help ensure management and HR practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Assist with audits of Team Member files, I-9 documentation, training records, benefits records, and other HR documentation.
  • Coordinate Team Member training programs and maintain required training records and certifications.
  • Monitor attendance, turnover, resignations, exit interview information, and other workforce trends and report concerns or opportunities to HR leadership.
  • Conduct exit interviews and assist with separation procedures and required documentation.
  • Support Team Member communication programs, including HR announcements, job postings, policy updates, and other internal communications.
  • Coordinate Team Member recognition programs, appreciation activities, employee events, holiday celebrations, and other engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with preparation of HR reports, statistics, headcount information, turnover information, and other workforce data as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Human Resources, payroll, medical, benefits, and Team Member information.
  • Provide HR support to managers and Team Members while maintaining a professional, respectful, and service-oriented approach.
  • Serve as a backup to other members of the Human Resources team as business needs require.
  • Perform other Human Resources duties and special projects as assigned.
