About The Position

Maverick Packaging is seeking a Human Resources and Safety Manager to lead the day-to-day and strategic functions of HR and workplace safety for a fast-growing contract manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for talent acquisition, onboarding, policies and employee relations, compensation, benefits and leave administration, HRIS and data integrity, compliance, culture and engagement, and OSHA/safety programs. The goal is to build scalable people and safety systems that enable operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a safe, accountable work environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Safety Management, or related field is strongly preferred. Evidence of coursework towards the completion of a degree will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Manufacturing, packaging, or contract manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Solid planning, prioritization, organization, and execution skills required.
  • Knowledgeable on all of the various areas of HR, Safety, Recruiting, and Payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through to ensure smooth rollout of systems and processes.
  • Solid math aptitude and problem-solving/conflict management abilities.
  • Ability to be an advocate for employees while driving business goals.
  • Strong Paylocity Payroll system experience.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced verbal and written skillset; able to communicate, mediate, and train others effectively.
  • Ability to be discrete with confidential information.
  • Ability to be collaborative and resourceful.
  • Self-directed and high in integrity.
  • Able to work well within a broad set of guidelines.
  • Advises manager of obstacles and makes recommendations on thoughtful options to move people practices towards business goals.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred but not required.
  • OSHA certificates preferred but not required.
  • Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day and strategic functions of HR and workplace safety.
  • Own talent acquisition, onboarding, policies and employee relations, compensation, benefits and leave administration, HRIS and data integrity, compliance, culture and engagement, and OSHA/safety programs.
  • Build scalable people and safety systems that enable operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a safe, accountable work environment.
  • Partner with Leadership to understand and execute the Company's HR & People Strategy.
  • Manage, plan, and execute all employee life cycle programs and processes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Maintain and update employee education materials, including the Employee Handbook, for clear and accurate expectations and compliance.
  • Manage the Benefit, Payroll and Performance Management systems and processes, ensuring effectiveness and business goal attainment.
  • Manage and perform the talent acquisition strategy and processes to recruit and retain the best talent.
  • Review, develop, and execute training regarding HR compliance policies, practices, and systems to ensure understanding and effectiveness.
  • Serve as the company Safety Manager and lead workplace safety programs, including safety policies, training, inspections, audits, incident reporting, hazard correction, and OSHA recordkeeping to ensure compliance.
  • Lead safety committee meetings, maintain training records and safety documentation, support regulatory inspections, and promote employee participation in safety initiatives to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Serve as an advocate to promote Employee success, as well as accomplishing Company goals.
  • Stay current on labor laws and regulations for HR and Safety; develop and implement improvement plans to maintain compliance.
