About The Position

The City of San Bernardino Human Resources Department is seeking two (2) highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources professionals to join their Recruitment and Benefits teams. These positions play a critical role in supporting citywide recruitment and benefits needs. The Human Resources Analyst Trainee is the entry-level position in the Human Resources Analyst series, where incumbents serve under training conditions while acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to qualify for promotion to Human Resources Analyst I. The Human Resources Analyst I is the journey-level position in the professional Human Resources job series, where incumbents perform professional assignments in one or more human resource program areas while contributing to City policies and procedures. Vacancies may be filled at the level of Trainee or Analyst I based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Requirements

  • Human Resources Analyst Trainee: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Management, Psychology, or a related field; OR four years of paraprofessional human resources experience at the level of a Senior HR Technician at the City of San Bernardino; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Human Resources Analyst I: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or a closely related field; AND two (2) years of paraprofessional human resources experience in recruitment and selection, benefits, risk management, or employee relations; OR one (1) year of experience as a Human Resources Analyst Trainee with the City of San Bernardino; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Experience processing benefits enrollments, terminations, and changes.
  • Experience with high-volume data entry on a recurring basis.

  • Ability to balance and manage priorities adhering to tight deadlines.
