About The Position

This role serves as a Human Resources and Administrative Assistant, supporting both HR functions and general office operations for the facility. The position involves managing payroll, recruitment, benefits administration, wellness initiatives, teammate relations, and general HR administration. Additionally, it provides administrative support to office and plant leadership, coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence, and assisting with teammate events. The role requires effective communication, organization, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Processing payroll for hourly teammates, including new hire documentation, timecard review, status changes, and termination processes.
  • Managing recruitment efforts, including advertising open positions, sourcing and screening applicants, scheduling pre-employment screenings, and completing new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Administering benefits enrollment, assisting teammates with enrollment, changes, and qualifying life events, and maintaining knowledge of benefits, FMLA, COBRA, etc.
  • Administering wellness initiatives, informing teammates of incentives, encouraging participation in challenges, and managing wellness screenings.
  • Supporting teammates and plant management in resolving teammate relations issues and assisting in conflict resolution, including documenting corrective actions.
  • Actively listening and communicating with plant management, teammates, Safety, Corporate HR, and Legal, helping teammates understand policies and procedures.
  • Supporting plant leadership in implementing and following safety policies and procedures, assisting with incident investigations, logging safety records, and reporting/following up on Worker’s Compensation claims.
  • Maintaining accurate teammate information in the HR system, reviewing performance appraisals, and ensuring timely entry of teammate terminations.
  • Serving as the administrative point person for the facility, supporting office and plant leadership.
  • Coordinating meetings, calendars, training sessions, and conference room usage.
  • Preparing professional correspondence, reports, presentations, and internal communications.
  • Assisting with teammate events, meetings, and recognition activities.
  • Supporting basic facility and administrative coordination in partnership with operations and safety teams.
