About The Position

The Human Resources Administration works directly with the HR Manager and closely with the operations team to ensure all staff and personnel matters pertaining to the plant operations at the facility, including recruitment and selection, conditions of employment, staff training, absenteeism control programs, and other administrative tasks. This role also provides advice and support to Management to ensure compliance with employment and labour laws.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary diploma in Human Resources, or business or related field preferable.
  • Minimum 2 years of related administrative experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with Ceridian/Dayforce preferred.
  • Understanding of Employment Standards/labour law.
  • High sense of urgency, well organized and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Highly proficient computer skills, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, when required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment process, including interviews, orientation, and setup of new plant employees, ensuring accurate data entry into Dayforce.
  • Provide HR support to the plant management team and plant employees.
  • Prepare and assist with delivering various training presentations as required.
  • Support the progressive discipline program as required.
  • Support in monitoring and maintaining the attendance program, prepare letters, etc.
  • Ensure HR strategies and initiatives are aligned with Company objectives.
  • Administer implementation plans in the areas of employee relations and employee engagement.
  • Assist to ensure all job descriptions are kept up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with relevant laws/regulations for all positions.
  • Assist managers and employees to effectively apply HR policies and programs to ensure consistency in interpretation and application.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager, Plant Manager, HR team, and Corporate HR.
  • Administer and ensure consistency with CA where applicable.
  • Assist and support with employee concerns in employee and labour relations.
  • Ensure consistency of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the OH&S coordinator with the WCB return to work process as required.
  • Support the Payroll team when there is a request to manage the Employee time card on Dayforce.
  • Other duties as required.
