About The Position

Responsible for supporting and assisting the Human Resource Department with maintaining accurate and precise compensation data entry, HR related reporting, and employment verifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of clerical experience
  • 2 years of human resources experience
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and file maintenance
  • Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
  • Ability to perform basis math
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Associates degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities

  • In-process new hires by providing district information, assisting with form completion, reviewing forms/data for accuracy, and documenting work eligibility (I-9 and E-Verify)
  • Handle routine HR inquiries to ensure a high level of service and responsive, knowledgeable support for employees and their supervisors. Explain HR policies and practices to employees as appropriate.
  • Maintain HR information database to ensure that employee information is accurate, current, and reliable.
  • Maintain position control system in an accurate and timely manner. Reconcile job descriptions with position control to ensure that there is a job description for every job. Follow up with supervisors to make certain that job descriptions are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
  • Enter and update employee data in to Skyward (demographic, degree, etc).
  • Receive and process applications, including verifying completeness of files, i.e. (references, resumes, transcripts, etc.) and notifying those not selected for employment.
  • Process new hire paperwork including criminal history and fingerprint information, references, and other application materials.
  • Assist with reviewing incoming service records and validates all claims of creditable work experience in accordance with the commissioner’s rules for creditable years of service.
  • Conduct and maintain the outboarding process of separations/terminations
  • Prepare and distribute or post job vacancy announcements and advertisements.
  • Maintain Public Education Management Systems (PEIMS) information on personnel and assists with the preparation of annual PEIMS snapshot reports.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute employee handbook as directed.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, and reports according to district standards and requirements.
  • Assist with compensation related work in compliance with various District policies.
  • Assist with verification of employment both verbal and written.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  • Greet visitors and assist employees and applicants to complete applications and required paperwork.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of employment contracts.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
