About The Position

Mustang Transportation is a rapidly growing transportation company supporting mining, industrial, and community transportation operations throughout the Western United States. As we continue to expand our Nevada operations, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, accuracy, compliance, and helping maintain the systems and records that keep a growing company running smoothly. The successful candidate will play a critical role in employee onboarding, personnel record management, certification tracking, compliance monitoring, and HR administration. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for maintaining employee records, tracking certifications and required documentation, supporting hiring and onboarding efforts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and employee records.
  • Track required employee certifications, licenses, medical certifications, training records, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor expiration dates and proactively notify employees and management of upcoming renewals.
  • Ensure personnel files remain compliant with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain electronic and physical recordkeeping systems with a high level of accuracy.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Prepare and process employment paperwork and new hire documentation.
  • Verify completion of required employment documents and compliance requirements.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding policies, benefits, and employment documentation.
  • Support employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and separations.
  • Assist with job postings and applicant tracking.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications.
  • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain applicant records and hiring documentation.
  • Generate reports related to employee records, certifications, training, and compliance.
  • Support audits and internal reviews of employee documentation.
  • Assist with policy acknowledgments and required company training tracking.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
  • Provide administrative support to HR and Operations leadership as needed.
