About The Position

The HR Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for driving HR initiatives that support distribution center operations in Earth City, MO. This role partners closely with DC leadership to foster a high-performance culture, ensure staffing stability, promote employee engagement, and maintain compliance with all company policies and employment laws. The HR Manager will lead HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, recruiting, safety collaboration, training, and HR analytics within a fast-paced distribution environment. This is an on-site position that requires daily presence at our Earth City facility, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of HR generalist/manager experience, preferably within distribution, manufacturing, or high-volume operations
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience handling HR investigations and employee relations issues
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and professional judgment
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (specifically UKG), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and workforce analytics

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to DC leadership on workforce planning, talent strategies, organizational design, and employee engagement.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with company values and operational expectations.
  • Lead change management efforts related to organizational initiatives, policy rollout, and operational improvements.
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain fair and consistent implementation of policies, ensuring compliance with federal and Missouri state employment laws.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to improve communication, coaching, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support hiring of operations personnel.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local agencies, workforce development groups, and community partners.
  • Track and manage staffing levels, retention metrics, and onboarding effectiveness.
  • Manage new hire orientation, onboarding, and skill-based training programs.
  • Support leadership development for frontline supervisors and leads.
  • Identify training gaps and implement targeted solutions to improve performance and safety.
  • Administer HR processes including attendance tracking, leaves of absence, performance reviews, and compensation changes.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct audits to ensure regulatory compliance (EEO, FMLA, ADA, safety, etc.).
  • Partner with the Safety team on incident investigations and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Support culture-building initiatives around safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Provide HR perspective during operational changes such as scheduling shifts, peak season planning, or process redesign.
  • Monitor key HR metrics (turnover, retention, staffing efficiency, attendance, engagement trends).
  • Present insights to DC leadership and recommend strategies to improve workforce performance.
