About The Position

This Human Resource Manager position is a 6-month contract role with a possibility of extension, located in El Paso, TX. The role involves managing day-to-day employee relations and HR-related questions, serving as the first point of contact for hourly associates, and leading employee escalations, investigations, and complaints. The manager will provide support and coaching to Front Line Supervisors and the leadership team on HR matters, including employee discipline and conflict resolution. Key responsibilities include facilitating HR system processes, ensuring data accuracy, and analyzing data for strategic recommendations. The role also encompasses owning and leading all hourly recruitment activities at the site, from sourcing to onboarding. Furthermore, the manager will participate in improvement and innovation efforts related to the 'People' aspect of the Schneider Performance System in a manufacturing environment. This includes leading employee hiring and contractor conversion, contributing to professional development by identifying and assessing talent, and facilitating learning initiatives. The manager will also lead initiatives for digital connectivity for hourly associates. A significant part of the role is maintaining positive employee engagement through listening strategies, coaching leadership on improvement solutions, and leading employee activities, recognition programs, career development, and communication forums. The Human Resource Manager will also lead the DE&I Committee at the site and community involvement with local schools and colleges to enhance employer branding and talent acquisition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or other related discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in HR generalist area
  • Must have domestic mobility
  • Strong leadership skills: collaboration, communication, influence, drive for results, effective planning & prioritization, and project management
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills working in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and matrix environment
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to manage digital systems to analyze data
  • Must be authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day employee relations and HR related questions leveraging our internal HR Shared Service model; first point of contact for all hourly associates
  • Lead on employee escalations, investigations, complaints
  • Provide support and coaching to Front Line Supervisors
  • Support HR Manager in coaching the leadership team, provide advice and support on all related HR matters
  • Provide advice concerning matters with employee discipline and conflict resolution
  • Facilitate HR system processes and ensure data accuracy through digital tools; analyze data to support HR team in making better and strategic recommendations to the business
  • Own and lead all hourly recruitment at the site: sourcing, coordinating interviews, hiring, onboarding, etc.
  • Participate in improvement and innovation efforts through ownership and management of the “People” aspect of the Schneider Performance System (SPS) in the manufacturing environment.
  • Lead employee hiring/contractor conversion efforts to ensure continuity in workforce requirements
  • Contribute to employees' professional development and embrace the talent strategy by supporting the identification and assessment of the best talent as well as ways to support and develop our people
  • Facilitate and lead learning initiatives across the site. Partner with other functions to provide resources to develop our teams
  • Facilitate and lead the various initiatives for digital connectivity for our hourly associates
  • Maintain positive employee engagement by focusing on listening strategies to gather feedback and provide coaching to leadership teams on solutions for improvement.
  • Lead employee activities, employee recognition programs, career development and communication forums.
  • Lead DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Committee at the site
  • Lead community involvement with local schools and colleges to improve employer branding and talent acquisition efforts
