Walker Tape® is hiring a Human Resource Manager to join our team! Walker Tape® is the industry leader in tapes and adhesives for hair replacement systems. Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive HR generalist experience across key functional areas of HR, including 2+ years at a Manager level.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing or warehousing industry experience; ideally at small to mid-sized businesses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor laws and regulations, along with experience applying best practices in corporate policies and programs.
  • Benefit and leave program design and administration experience; strong knowledge of relevant compliance and audit requirements.
  • Full-cycle recruiting management experience across a range of job types and levels.
  • HRIS utilization and configuration experience, along with a general aptitude for learning new software and training others (we use BambooHR).
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suite tooling is required, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled communicator and presenter for various audiences, ensuring messaging is effective and engaging.
  • Ability to quickly make independent decisions and demonstrate solid judgment on escalations while maintaining necessary discretion and data privacy compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to participate in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage all HR functions, partnering closely with our leadership and accounting teams.
  • Partner with leadership and all levels of the business to influence our strategic vision and goal planning.
  • Manage all group health, insurance, and retirement programs, ensuring coverage options and self-service tools are effectively supporting our employees.
  • Drive annual enrollment cycles, collaborating with Accounting and Executive leaders to achieve desired coverage and cost management.
  • Lead committees focused on wellness initiatives and communication.
  • Act as primary contact for leave management and workers compensation.
  • Manage base compensation programs including job-leveled pay ranges and annual increase cycles.
  • Partner with Accounting and Executive leaders to develop and maintain variable compensation programs (bonus, commission, retention, etc.).
  • Manage our seniority-based and spot-recognition programs.
  • Prepare various employee surveys and feedback exercises.
  • Oversee company event committees, such as monthly lunches, new hire welcomes, awards, wellness, trainings, and seasonal celebrations.
  • Oversee a range of activities ensuring an engaging and efficient onboarding process, such as start date instructions, IT setups, document collection, orientation presentations, and welcome activities.
  • Guide managers and new employees through each onboarding stage with standardized templates and digital resources.
  • Partner with Accounting to process payroll; directly accountable for timekeeping, time off, and employee profile management within HRIS.
  • Act as emergency backup for payroll processing.
  • Assist with recurring and ad-hoc reporting requests, including budget support.
  • Create and maintain effective, sustainable programs that align with business needs (goals, reviews, performance metrics, development plans, PIPs).
  • Full-cycle recruitment management, including partnerships with managers, admin support roles, and third-party resources (staffing agencies, trade schools, universities, industry associations).
  • Act as primary resource and internal educator for all areas of HR compliance, including policy and handbook management.
  • Maintain a network for identifying legislative and industry trends that may impact our business and prepare recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Manage various filings and audits (W-2, ACA, 401k, WC).
  • HRIS configuration and maintenance (BambooHR), with emphasis on transitioning toward digitization and automation of HR documentation and processes.
  • Create and maintain various Excel-based trackers for program management and approval workflows.
  • Collaborate with teams to create digital employee self-service tools (videos, intranet pages, surveys, etc.).
