With over 30 years of experience in the Self-Storage industry, SAMS is the leading supplier of single-story, multi-story, and interior storage systems. We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to join our management team and support our employees and leadership in all aspects of HR operations. The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys helping both employees and managers succeed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources; generalist experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, benefit administration, recruiting, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (like Paycor, Workday, ADP, etc.) and strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • HR Industry certifications a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer day-to-day human resources functions, including payroll coordination, benefits, and leave management.
  • Support recruitment efforts: posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires.
  • Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns, promoting positive employee relations.
  • Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, EEO, FMLA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Partner with management to address performance, training, and employee development needs.
  • Support annual performance reviews and assist with employee engagement initiatives.
