About The Position

Responsible for performing a broad range of HR-related duties while providing day-to-day HR support for assigned manufacturing crew(s) and/or departments. Partner closely with manufacturing supervisors and other leaders in supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations. Originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that support the entire Human Resources team. Lead associate relations effort and ensure all human resources functions and activities are carried out effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with First Solar’s Core Values and Behaviors. This includes coordination and implementation of policies, programs, procedures, and programs in the following functional areas: benefits, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience in Human Resources required
  • Proven employee relations experience is required
  • Working knowledge of employment/labor laws and regulations, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Solid understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Solid knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Must be able to interact professionally with associates at all levels
  • Time management & strong organization skills; manage projects and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday), ADP and Kronos, a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree major in human resources or business preferred
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement changes to procedures, processes, resources and techniques to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the department or internal customers.
  • Assist HR management to resolve associate relations issues or elevate to management as necessary. Ensure documentation is complete.
  • Resolve most questions and problems, and refers more complex issues to Manager.
  • Partner with associates of assigned crew(s) and/or departments to provide a one stop shop in HR support and act as a backup for opposite crew(s) and/or departments.
  • Organizes, manages and maintains confidential personnel and human resources information files electronically.
  • Recommending improvements to HR processes and systems.
  • Learn the business by attending operations meetings etc.
  • Keep a pulse on associate morale by actively conducting management by walking around. Communicates associates concerns appropriately.
  • Coach managers on associate issues and bring them to resolution.
  • Lead and/or facilitate the following efforts for assigned crew(s) and/or departments: Annual pay planning.
  • Lead and/or facilitate the following efforts for assigned crew(s) and/or departments: Quarterly performance reviews.
  • Lead and/or facilitate the following efforts for assigned crew(s) and/or departments: Open enrollment for benefit plan.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Investigations.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Performance Management.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Corrective Actions.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Leaves (STD, LTD, FMLA, Modified Work Duty and WC).
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Termination / Resignation.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Drug and alcohol program.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Changes in associates’ status (including, but not limited to promotions, demotions, etc).
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Employment and unemployment verifications.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Assisting with policy interpretation and adherence.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Presenting one or more areas of new hire orientation.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Answering benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
  • Administer the day-to-day tasks of the following processes: Working with payroll to resolve pay issues and questions brought forward.
  • Other duties as assigned.
