About The Position

The Human Resource Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee communication, records management, payroll support, benefits administration, unemployment claims, and event coordination. This role supports plant operations and aims to maintain a highly engaged, union-free environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years general administrative human resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • A high level of diplomacy, tact, and judgment as well as an upbeat and positive attitude.
  • Ability to surface issues and handle sensitive and confidential information in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Superior organizational skills with a high quality of accuracy and attention to detail in both written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly, work and be flexible with deadlines, solve problems effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to be proactive and self-directed while working professionally in a team environment to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment with an emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs or databases quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Human Resources or related field highly desirable
  • PHR certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with Oracle strongly desired
  • Prior work experience in a non-union, multi-shift manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate selection processes for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, outreach to Workforce Development and staffing agencies, applicant sourcing and screening, pre-employment assessments, reference checks, and maintenance of recruiting files.
  • Manage orientation and onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Maintain Affirmative Action Planning system, including annual logs for postings, hires, terminations, and promotions.
  • Complete annual AAP and ensure compliance with federal contractor requirements.
  • Present policies and work rules to employees and contractors.
  • Surface employee concerns, recommend resolutions, and act as liaison between employees, managers, HR, and community resources to maintain a highly engaged, union-free environment.
  • Maintain accurate and secure HR files (personnel, medical, I-9) per retention policy.
  • Track disciplinary actions, training, vacation, and attendance.
  • Ensure accuracy of shared files and databases.
  • Manage interface with Oracle and plant payroll systems.
  • Ensure accurate coding for job classifications, shifts, and departments.
  • Complete daily attendance tracking, initiate disciplinary actions, and prepare attendance reports.
  • Support benefits processes for hourly and salaried employees, assist with open enrollment, and resolve benefits-related issues.
  • Handle FMLA, disability, and return-to-work processes.
  • Process unemployment claims and participate in appeal hearings as needed.
  • Assist with accounts receivable/payable, invoicing, order entry, and other administrative duties supporting plant operations.
  • Organize employee recognition programs, service awards, safety events, and holiday celebrations.
  • Prepare presentation materials, coordinate meetings and catering, and maintain bulletin boards.
