Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR / Payroll Generalist to support day-to-day human resources and payroll functions across our organization. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Restaurant management experience is highly valued, particularly for candidates who have hands-on experience with employee relations, scheduling, payroll, hiring, onboarding, or other administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Prior HR, payroll, administrative, or restaurant management experience required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and follow through consistently.
  • Professional and confident working with employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background/security screening for airport locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • HR degree is not required; relevant restaurant management or operational experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting, candidate screening, hiring, background checks, and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure required employment documentation is complete.
  • Support payroll administration, including employee changes, timekeeping, payroll accuracy, and follow-up on discrepancies.
  • Assist with employee benefits administration and enrollment.
  • Support employee relations matters and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, and company information.
  • Partner with restaurant management and corporate leadership to resolve HR and payroll needs.
  • Track open items and follow through to completion while meeting established deadlines.
  • Assist with additional HR, payroll, and administrative responsibilities as needed.
