Exponent is seeking a Human Factors Scientist for its Human Factors Practice in New York, NY, with a Summer 2026 start date. This role involves working within a team to analyze human performance in various scenarios, including consumer products, FDA/EPA-regulated products, and occupational work. The position focuses on analyzing past incidents and managing safety risks to prevent future occurrences. The scientist will support litigation, usability testing, sensory study design, survey development, and evaluate user interactions with products, assessing perceptual, cognitive, olfactory, and motor capabilities. Responsibilities include analyzing human factors in incidents, evaluating warnings and safety information, managing case data, and communicating complex analyses to non-technical audiences. Project management, including budgets and deadlines, is also a key part of the role, as is participating in the design of warnings and safety information, and contributing to business development through client relationship management.
