About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking part-time faculty members, ideally industry professionals, to teach Human Biology with Lab (BIOS150). This introductory course covers biological principles of the human body, focusing on the structure and function of major organ systems. Students will explore biochemistry, biology, genetics, anatomy, and physiology, understanding how these systems maintain homeostasis and respond to disease. Topics include human development, fluid dynamics, reproduction, nutrition, and the body's defenses. The role involves developing and delivering course materials, engaging students through a coaching model, utilizing online technologies, and assessing student learning.

Requirements

Master's Degree is required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching - Human Biology, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology or Microbiology).
Ability to provide unofficial and official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution. (or a NACES approved US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.

Responsibilities

Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education/Chamberlain University syllabus that follows an established template, which includes the terminal course objectives.
Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
Conduct the course using our student focused coaching model, focused on proactive outreach using phone, email communication, and use of other communication technologies
Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
Performs/Completes other duties as assigned.
