About The Position

Northern Essex Community College (NECC) is seeking an adjunct instructor for Human Biology (BIO101) for Fall 2026, to be delivered in-person on the Haverhill campus. The lecture portion of the course meets from 12:30pm to 1:45pm on Tuesday/Thursday. This course is part of our Early College program. Additionally, NECC is accepting applications for a pool of Adjunct Faculty to teach various Biology Courses on an as-needed basis for the Fall 2026 semester and beyond. Successful applicants would teach courses in Biology, or Anatomy and Physiology. The college is seeking instructors for primarily day and evening face-to-face classes, which could include Early College classes. Future possibilities of online or hybrid instruction exist and would require successful completion of mandatory training. Adjunct faculty play a critical role in the teaching and learning process, contributing to student success. Positions are available pending sufficient enrollment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience teaching in a related discipline at the college level
  • Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Northern Essex Community College does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion and review of a background check which will include CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information).

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses according to Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes.
  • Adhere to all NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including policies regarding grading, deadlines, evaluation process, syllabus requirements, materials posted on the LMS, and required meetings.
