The HSSE Intern will support the Project HSSE Team during the RFQ, contractor prequalification, and early engineering phases of a major construction project. This role provides hands-on exposure to construction safety, environmental management, and contractor HSSE requirements within a capital project environment. Requirements

  • Continuous improvement mindset: someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Basic understanding of construction safety principles and OSHA regulations
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and hold a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or hands-on experience in safety, construction, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with contractor management or HSSE management systems
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification for construction environments
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a long-term career within construction HSSE

Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain HSSE data, trackers, dashboards, and summary reports to support project oversight
  • Participate in HSSE meetings, reviews, and coordination activities with internal teams and contractors
  • Provide general HSSE administrative support, including documentation control and compliance tracking
  • Support field-based HSSE activities during project site visits, adhering to PPE and site requirements
  • Assist with contractor HSSE prequalification documentation and evaluation processes
  • Contribute to the development and setup of a Safety Training Center (Dojo) to support project learning and risk awareness
