Exploration of diversity in mental health rather than abnormality in mental illness. Prevalence of mental health conditions and the use of the DSM and ICD as diagnostic and classification systems. Interdisciplinary discussions of the experiences of mental health issues and associated treatments, research, and social services. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health sciences, psychology or equivalent
  • University-level teaching experience
  • Competence in second language (if applicable)
  • Ability to teach in Person and HYBRID instruction modes
  • Must be able to complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Responsibilities

  • Teach HSS2105A: Exploration of diversity in mental health rather than abnormality in mental illness.
  • Discuss prevalence of mental health conditions and use of the DSM and ICD as diagnostic and classification systems.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary discussions of the experiences of mental health issues and associated treatments, research, and social services.
