Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Training Coordinator/Specialists will support the function from a training and administrative perspective as well as deliver or coordinate all training required for turnaround personnel. They will promote the health, safety and well-being of employees with the goal of reducing or eliminating workplace injuries and incidents. They will serve as a resource for information, interpretation, and guidance to all project personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all required training is identified, booked and executed.
  • Ensure that all training records are maintained.
  • Ensure that the training matrix is up to date with reliable and valid information.
  • Coordinate with the Irving training team to ensure adequate availability of resources.
  • Ensure training facilities are available.
  • Conducting training sessions.
  • Work with the applicable halls to ensure all required training is complete.
  • Develop toolbox and safety topics to review training and applicable procedures throughout the year.
  • Develop quarterly schedules and budgets for required training!
  • Assess and evaluate work procedures to identify potential hazards and facilitate the mitigation of found hazards.
  • Advise managers, supervisors and all other employees on Safe Work Practices, Procedures, and applicable Regulations.
  • Provide expert interpretation of the New Brunswick Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Code, Irving Safe Work Procedures and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Actively participate in the development of daily toolbox talks.
  • Actively participate in the planning, development, and delivery of weekly safety meetings.
  • Coach and mentor employees, supervision and management on Irving’s Safety Programs and Hazard Elimination Report Program.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and programs.
  • Intervene on unsafe acts and facilitate the correction of unsafe conditions.
  • Actively participate in Field Level Risk Assessments/ SPA Process.
  • Actively participate in incident investigations.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Planning and practice.
  • Inspect work sites for potential loss scenarios related to People, Equipment, Material & Environment (PEME)
  • Participate in Risk Reviews as required.
