About The Position

The HSE Technician will assist in the overall implementation of the various Project HSE Management Systems as directed by the HSE Supervisor / Manager. The HSE Technician will be at the project site to implement, educate, and monitor HSE compliance for field work activities to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Travel Requirements: Must be willing and able to travel to assigned project site locations as required. Per diem will be provided for eligible travel assignments in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years safety experience as an individual contributor in construction or industrial fabrication facility or equivalent background, OR a CHST designation or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year construction experience as a titled safety professional, OR possess the current OSHA 500/502 Certification and a minimum of two (2) years construction experience as a titled safety professional.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state, local and company safety regulations required.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Basic computer applications knowledge and use.

  • Visibly communicate a strong commitment to the Project’s HSE and Security Plans through a positive working relationship and accountability with site management and subcontractors.
  • Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee behavior through peer-to-peer conversations and interface with field supervisory personnel.
  • Assist in supervision and administration of safety, first aid and rescue squad activities.
  • Participate and/or assist conducting staff and craft safety orientation training program.
  • Perform regular inspections of assigned construction site work areas.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigations, ensuring that root causes and causal factors have been captured, and preventive and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions and activities.
  • Issue work permits as required per training received.
  • Participate in housekeeping activities.
  • Perform additional assignments by supervisor’s direction.
