About The Position

The HSE Technician will assist in the overall implementation of the various Project HSE Management Systems as directed by the HSE Supervisor / Manager. The HSE Technician will be at the project site to implement, educate, and monitor HSE compliance for field work activities to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Travel Requirements: Must be willing and able to travel to assigned project site locations as required. Per diem will be provided for eligible travel assignments in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years safety experience as an individual contributor in construction or industrial fabrication facility or equivalent background, OR a CHST designation or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year construction experience as a titled safety professional, OR possess the current OSHA 500/502 Certification and a minimum of two (2) years construction experience as a titled safety professional.
Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state, local and company safety regulations required.
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.
Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
Basic computer applications knowledge and use.

Visibly communicate a strong commitment to the Project’s HSE and Security Plans through a positive working relationship and accountability with site management and subcontractors.
Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee behavior through peer-to-peer conversations and interface with field supervisory personnel.
Assist in supervision and administration of safety, first aid and rescue squad activities.
Participate and/or assist conducting staff and craft safety orientation training program.
Perform regular inspections of assigned construction site work areas.
Assist in accident/incident investigations, ensuring that root causes and causal factors have been captured, and preventive and corrective actions are implemented.
Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions and activities.
Issue work permits as required per training received.
Participate in housekeeping activities.
Perform additional assignments by supervisor’s direction.
