The HSE Manager at PCL Construction, Inc. within Civil West is responsible for developing and implementing project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and regulatory requirements. This role involves identifying, evaluating, developing, and delivering project-specific HSE training, as well as assisting with district-specific training. The HSE Manager will review project training objectives and action plans, identify industry statistics and hazards, and communicate anticipated changes to project teams. A key part of the role is ensuring hazard identification tools are in place and evaluating areas for process improvement. The position also oversees and conducts HSE inspections and audits, provides guidance and coaching on audit requirements, and verifies appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, developing specialized PPE training as needed. Furthermore, the HSE Manager develops and evaluates emergency response plans, executes crisis communication plans, and verifies equipment and tool inspections. They participate in incident investigations, determine the need for external resources, and monitor work injuries, ensuring modified work is followed and documented.
