About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre construction program in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to project leadership, you will lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the project while driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of HSE experience within large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience supporting data centres, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta health and safety regulations.
  • Experience managing contractor safety programs and conducting incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation such as CRSP, CHSC, CSP, or NCSO preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement project HSE programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and visible leadership.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety assessments.
  • Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure timely resolution of corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Review risk assessments, safe work plans, and environmental management plans.
  • Track and report HSE performance metrics, trends, and key project indicators.
  • Provide expert HSE guidance to project leadership, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and industry best practices.
