York Construction is seeking an HSE Coordinator to assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with applicable legislation and industry standards & best practices. Requirements

National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) required
Minimum of 5 years HSE experience
Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driver’s Abstract
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
Ability to remain objective and maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries
Sense of urgency and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to deliver a message to a large group
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and safely as part of daily duties.
The ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain as required by the nature of the work. This includes navigating areas with potential obstacles and varying surfaces.

Certified COR Auditor with Alberta Construction Safety Association an asset

Responsibilities

Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify and address potential health and safety hazards.
Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed diligently.
Facilitate on-site safety training sessions and orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Ensure that all workers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to maintain a safe work environment.
Respond promptly to on-site incidents, accidents, and near misses, conducting thorough investigations.
Implement corrective actions and provide recommendations to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
Develop and implement on-site emergency response plans and procedures.
Conduct regular emergency drills to assess the effectiveness of response measures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of on-site safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incidents.
Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the HSE Manager as required.
Actively engage with on-site personnel to promote a positive safety culture.
Recognize and reward individuals and teams for exemplary safety practices.
Stay informed about local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
Ensure on-site compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standard.
