The instructor is responsible for preparing lessons, encouraging student behavior standards, guiding the learning process, and employing various instructional techniques. Assessment of student accomplishments, diagnosis of learning disabilities, and ensuring student safety are also key functions. The role requires maintaining accurate records, assisting administration with policies, and developing classroom rules. Availability to students and parents outside instructional hours, planning for instructional aides, and continuous professional development are expected. The position also requires the ability to communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn.
