About The Position

The HRIS Specialist is responsible for the effective administration, optimization, and ongoing support of People’s Group’s HR systems, with a primary focus on UKG. This role plays a key part in enabling accurate, efficient, and compliant people operations by ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and a strong user experience. Working in close partnership with People & Culture (P&C), Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders, the HRIS Specialist translates business needs into practical system solutions. The role supports the full employee lifecycle, drives process improvements and automation, and ensures HR technology evolves in alignment with People’s Group’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience supporting or administering an HRIS in an HR, Payroll, or People Operations environment.
  • Experience working with UKG (or similar enterprise HRIS platforms)
  • Hands-on experience administering HR systems across the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong HRIS administration skills, including system configuration, security roles, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR systems, integrations, upgrades, or system implementations.
  • Knowledge of HR data privacy legislation, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Experience with HR reporting, analytics, or business intelligence tools (ex: dashboards, queries, SQL, Cognos)
  • Experience working with confidential employee data and maintaining data privacy and security standards.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills to support HR partners, people leaders, employees, and technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, filters, and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and optimize the UKG platform and related HR systems to support onboarding, job changes, compensation updates, and terminations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HRIS-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving system or data discrepancies.
  • Partner with P&C and Payroll to support payroll processing, benefits administration, timekeeping, and compliance-related system workflows.
  • Conduct regular data audits, validations, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of employee and organizational data.
  • Build and maintain standard and ad hoc HR reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support workforce planning, compliance, and leadership decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate people-related processes, reducing manual work and improving efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead or support system enhancements, upgrades, and new module implementations, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and documentation.
  • Develop job aids, training materials, and guidance to improve HR self-service adoption and overall system usability.
  • Maintain role-based security, system documentation, and audit controls to support data privacy, internal governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with UKG and third-party vendors to manage support cases, enhancements, and integration issues as needed.
