About The Position

QuadReal Property Group is a global real estate investment, development and operating company. They are committed to providing Co-ops/Interns with a supportive and engaging learning environment while developing skills and business acumen. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various experiences including Speaker Series and Fireside Chats. This opportunity is open to students who are required to complete a 12-month co-op or internship as part of their post-secondary program to meet graduation requirements, as well as recent graduates who have completed a university or college program within the past 12 months (or will graduate prior to September 2026). This role provides hands-on experience in technology and AI, with the potential to be considered for future full-time opportunities based on performance and business needs. Based in Toronto, the HR Technology & AI Intern will report within People & Culture and work closely with HR, IT, and business teams across the organization. This role will actively support QuadReal's HR technology transformation by building AI-powered workflows and creating the data infrastructure needed to make better people decisions. The Intern will own real deliverables such as automation, dashboards, and AI enablement work, preparing insights, tools, and recommendations for senior leadership to help optimize HR operations and the employee experience.

Requirements

  • Hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT to automate real tasks, plus familiarity with the Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem (Excel, Power Automate, or similar).
  • Experience building dashboards, data pipelines, or automation tools (class projects count); data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau are a plus.
  • Experience with project tracking tools such as ClickUp or similar, and comfort setting up and maintaining project logs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; you can explain a technical solution to a non-technical audience and are comfortable presenting or facilitating a session live.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams; you scope loosely defined projects, ask the right questions, track your own progress, flag blockers early, and do not need to be chased for updates.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to HR systems (Workday, Anaplan, or similar HCM platforms).
  • Experience writing requirements documents for technical handoff.
  • A background in machine learning, data modelling, or statistical analysis.
  • Prior internship experience in a professional services, financial, or real estate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build the automation and data infrastructure that makes the HR team faster and more accurate.
  • Assess current HR processes and identify opportunities for automation and consolidation.
  • Build and maintain headcount trackers, and script automated data flows between systems such as Workday and Power BI.
  • Build end-to-end automated solutions and dashboards that replace manual work and surface HR insights and themes.
  • Support the HR technology roadmap and research emerging HR and AI trends, producing written recommendations for systems such as Workday and Anaplan.
  • Identify practical AI opportunities and build proofs of concept for AI-assisted workflows, documenting findings for leadership review.
  • Monitor evolving AI capabilities, share emerging trends, best practices and pricing models across AI platforms and vendors.
  • Assess how AI may impact future operating models, productivity, and cost structures, and produce a quarterly AI market briefing for senior leadership.
  • Design and run a repeatable AI training program for HR professionals.
  • Write HRIS-ready requirements documents for Workday projects - clear enough that the HRIS team can build without coming back with questions.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and business teams on technology initiatives, integration planning, and scalable solutions across the organization.

  • A Student Mentorship Program designed to provide support throughout your experience.
