About The Position

Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers is seeking an organized and eager-to-learn HR Support Specialist with a focus on employee benefits. This entry-level position plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources team by assisting with the administration of employee benefits and providing general HR support. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others navigate their employment experience and is committed to maintaining performance standards. This role involves supporting employee inquiries, processing benefits-related documentation, maintaining accurate records, coordinating open enrollment, and assisting with onboarding activities. The position requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and a commitment to excellent service.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn HRIS systems and processes or possess experience with the Paycom HRIS system.
  • Willingness to learn and understand benefit administration.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree or relevant coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in an office or administrative setting is considered a plus.
  • Candidates with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees with basic benefits-related questions, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Support benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations through the HRIS system.
  • Help coordinate open enrollment and distribute benefits materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee benefits and assist with compliance documentation.
  • Process benefit-related paperwork such as new hire forms, change requests, and termination notices.
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure correct benefit deductions.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and reporting.
  • Respond to employee questions and direct them to appropriate resources.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives (e.g., engagement surveys, training).
  • Support payroll processing by verifying timekeeping data.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Assist in advising on HR policies and procedures.
  • Help with internal investigations and documentation.
  • Participate in various steps in the onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Supports recruitment efforts by assisting with coordination and participation in job fairs and other outreach events.
