About The Position

The Human Resources Staff Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and performing a variety of technical Human Resources functions. These functions include administering hiring and on-boarding functions of employment, preparing and maintaining employment records and other human resources documentation, distributing human resources communications as appropriate, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Experience handling and maintaining sensitive data and information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, outlook, and Excel required.
  • General business communication skills – excellent in person, telephone, and email communication skills required.
  • Possess a proactive approach to accomplishing tasks in an efficient manner while ensuring strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially in regard to communicating with potential employees, current employees, and coworkers tactfully and professionally.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn ICIMS applicant tracking system, Cloudsuite, and Dayforce
  • Switch board or similar experience answering questions by phone; especially in high volume.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of personalities and people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adjust to changing needs and pace of the office during fluctuating volume throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive first impression for potential candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Provide a high level of service to all potential candidates and seasonal employees returning to work in Yellowstone National Park for Xanterra Travel Collection, Inc.
  • Process confidential and sensitive data related to the seasonal employment application process, reference checks, I-9 documentation requirements, and other personnel data.
  • Maintain information and personnel files viewed as confidential for all candidates and seasonal employees. Ensure sensitive and confidential information is viewed or handled only when there is a business need to do so.
  • Communicate with applicants and current employees in a professional and helpful manner via telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintain a friendly, kind, demeanor in all pre-arrival and check-in dates interactions with candidates. Ensure candidates and arriving employes are comfortable and knowledgeable in next steps after check-in.
  • Share Park knowledge and ensure all employees are comfortable with directions to the uniform room, their park location/village, and their location’s housing office before leaving check-in.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
