About The Position

This is a temporary position (up to 90 days) with potential of permanent. The successful candidate will implement human resources programs and onboarding procedures. The role involves coordinating the in-processing of new employees (domestic and international), creating personnel files, entering and updating employee information in the HRIS system, interfacing with hiring managers, ensuring new hire paperwork is complete, conducting virtual I9 verifications, and facilitating new hire orientation programs. The HR Specialist will also maintain HRIS and generate reports, manage HR files and documents, liaise with insurance carriers and providers, and answer employee questions regarding benefits and general HR matters. A key aspect of the role is the ability to handle confidential information appropriately and possess superior Microsoft Office Suite skills. Special reporting and other projects may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Costpoint) will be a plus
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
  • BSc/BA in Business administration or relevant field experience
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally, with discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of COBRA and FMLA programs
  • Must possess superior Microsoft Office Suite skills
