About The Position

Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for a Human Resources Representative II. The HR Rep II supports the administration of human resources programs and policies related to recruitment, employee and labour relations, benefits, compensation, payroll, health and safety, and HR compliance. This role acts as a resource to employees and leaders by providing guidance on HR policies, employment legislation and company programs. The role manages full-cycle recruitment activities utilizing ADP Workforce Now Recruiting and supports HRIS administration, reporting and employee lifecycle transactions. This role also serves as a designated backup for payroll processing to ensure continuity of payroll operations. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is based in our Mississauga, Ontario facility. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple HR priorities and exercise sound judgment when handling employee relations matters and confidential information.
  • Solid knowledge of human resources principles, practices and employment legislation.
  • Working knowledge of applicable employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and applicable labour relations legislation.
  • Strong understanding of employee and labour relations, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration and HR compliance.
  • Experience supporting investigations, accommodations, return-to-work programs and grievance administration.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruitment using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably ADP Workforce Now Recruiting, Onboarding and HRIS modules.
  • Experience utilizing online recruitment channels and job boards.
  • Experience maintaining employee records and generating HR reports and workforce metrics.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and ability to provide payroll backup support.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving,and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Customer-service mindset with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and supporting collective agreement administration is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now HRIS, Recruiting and Onboarding modules is strongly preferred.
  • Previous payroll administration or payroll backup experience is considered an asset.
  • LinkedIn Recruiter experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted workplace tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to improve reporting, communications, document creation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding employee and labour relations matters, workplace policies, performance management, conflict resolution, investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence and grievance administration.
  • Support disability management, return-to-work programs, attendance management and workplace health and safety initiatives.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly, technical, professional and administrative positions utilizing ADP Workforce Now Recruiting and other recruitment tools.
  • Develop talent pipelines through job boards, networking, employee referrals, and other sourcing strategies.
  • Support workforce planning, onboarding, internal transfers, promotions, and succession initiatives.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, administer HR programs, provide payroll backup support, prepare HR metrics and reports, and ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, training programs and organizational communications.
  • Participate in HR projects focused on employee development, succession planning, organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
